Ear candles

"Opinion is divided as to their usefulness, but the most people find the sensation during ear candling relaxing."

Question:

My partner and I recently tried out Hopi ear candles and were quite shocked by how much gunk came out! Is there any risk with using them and how often should they be used?

Answer:

There isn't any risk in using ear candles, in fact they do give some relief to people with sinus conditions. Opinion is divided as to their usefulness, but the most people find the sensation during ear candling relaxing. It is best to use a shield around the candle and not to cut off the ash as it burns down as the cut-off bits tend to fly up in the air and can drop down, burning ash onto your hair and setting it alight. You could use candles once a month without any problems.
