What inspired you to lose weight?
My engagement party photo was horrendous. I couldn't believe I'd put on weight, but I wasn't even conscious of it. I ordered my wedding dress in October and joined Weight Watchers in November, and at the time I couldn't wait to go back and look better than this. But my dress fittings were really motivating. Each time I went back they had to take it in further! I wanted to love a wedding photo of me.
I was eating way too much food and my portions were too big. Weight Watchers taught me to listen to my body and stop eating when I was full.
I write down what I eat and I monitor my portion sizes now. My husband is a tri-athlete and that helps me keep exercising, while I now manage the healthy food. My sister lived in New Zealand, and she joined Weight Watchers at the same time. We'd text each other how much weight we'd lost each week. But when my sister came back from overseas she couldn't believe how good I looked!
Donna's top tips
Allow yourself a bad day; if you've had a good week then have a piece of chocolate if you need it. Otherwise you crave the bad foods.
Take it a couple of kilos at a time, but when you get to your Goal weight, it's the best feeling!
